How much does custom framing cost?

Most pieces fall between $180 and $650, depending on size, moulding choice, and glass. Larger works, conservation framing, and more complex jobs are quoted individually — we'll always explain what's involved and why before you commit. No surprises.

How long does framing take?

Most jobs take around two to three weeks. We carry hundreds of moulding samples and dozens of matboard colours — but your chosen components aren't always in stock and may need to be ordered in. We don't offer same-day framing; our focus is craftsmanship, not speed.

Do you offer same-day or rush framing?

No. We focus entirely on quality over speed. If you need something urgently, a high-street framer will serve you better for that job — and we'd rather be honest about that than rush work we're not proud of.

Where is Framehouse located?

We're a by-appointment studio at 108 Savages Road, Brookfield QLD 4069 — on an acreage property in Brisbane's leafy western suburbs, with ample parking and the sound of birds in the trees. Get directions →

Do I need an appointment?

Yes — we work by appointment only. This means your consultation is private, unhurried, and completely focused on your artwork. Book via the Visit section on the home page, or email us at hello@framehouse.com.au.

Which areas do you serve?

Clients visit us from across Brisbane's western suburbs — Brookfield, Kenmore, Chapel Hill, Pullenvale, Fig Tree Pocket, Indooroopilly, Taringa & Toowong, Bellbowrie, Moggill, Anstead, St Lucia and Pinjarra Hills. Most are a short drive away along Moggill Road.

What should I bring to my consultation?

• The artwork itself (even a rough piece helps us talk through the right approach)
• Any measurements you have — width × height of the piece
• A photo of the wall it will hang on — lighting, colour and surrounding works affect the frame choice
• Any existing frames in the room you'd like to complement

Do you use conservation materials?

Yes — conservation-grade materials are our standard, not an upgrade. Every job uses alpha-cellulose matboard, UV-filtering glass, acid-free backing and archival mounting methods. We'll tell you honestly if your piece needs something more specific.

Do you frame large or unusual pieces?

Yes. The studio is set up for large-format and oversized work — canvases, panoramic photographs, maps, medals and three-dimensional objects. Our Valiani Nexus 150 CMC, Brevetti dual mitre saw and Alfamacchine underpinner handle work at any scale.

Can you refurbish old or damaged frames?

Yes. Lois is skilled in the refurbishment and restoration of frame mouldings — repairing cracks, regilding surfaces, replacing damaged sections and fitting new matboard, glass or backing. We don't restore artworks on canvas or paper, only the frames and their components.

What glass options do you offer?

We stock standard float glass, conservation clear (UV70), anti-reflective float glass, and museum-grade anti-reflective glass with 99% UV filtration (Artglass UV99). Answer four quick questions below and we'll recommend the right option for your piece.
