These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to your use of the Framehouse website and to any framing, restoration, or related goods and services we provide ("Services"). Framehouse is a brand of Impact Unlimited. Our Services are provided by The Trustee for the Nicholls Family Trust (ABN 40 837 235 887), trading as Impact Unlimited ("Framehouse", "we", "us", "our"), operating a by-appointment custom picture framing studio in Brookfield, Brisbane, Queensland. By engaging our Services or using this website, you agree to these Terms.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
1. Quotes and pricing
Because every piece is different, we provide a firm quote once we have assessed your artwork — in the studio or, where suitable, using our online Virtual Framer tool. Any prices, ranges or estimates shown on this website (including indicative figures such as typical price ranges) are a guide only and are not an offer. Quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. Prices are in Australian dollars and, where applicable, include GST.
2. Orders, deposits and payment
An order is confirmed once you approve the design and pricing and, where requested, pay a deposit. Custom framing is made specifically for you, so we may require a deposit of up to 50% before work begins, with the balance payable on completion and before collection or delivery. We accept the payment methods advised at the time of order.
3. Turnaround times
We are a boutique studio, not a same-day service. Most jobs take around two weeks, because we usually need to source the right moulding and matboard for your piece. Timeframes are estimates and may be affected by supplier lead times and the nature of the work. We will keep you informed if a delay is likely.
4. Custom work and approvals
You are responsible for confirming the details of your order — including artwork orientation, moulding, mat, glass and any text or layout — before we proceed. Once custom materials are cut or assembled to your approved specification, the order generally cannot be cancelled or changed except as required by law (for example, where goods are not of acceptable quality or do not match their description).
5. Care of your artwork and liability
We handle every piece with professional care and use conservation-grade materials where appropriate. While in our possession your artwork is handled at your risk except to the extent any loss or damage is caused by our negligence or breach of a consumer guarantee. We do not provide insurance for items left with us; we recommend you maintain your own insurance for valuable or irreplaceable works. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim is limited, at our option, to re-performing the relevant Service or refunding the amount you paid for it.
6. Collection and storage
Completed work should be collected promptly once we notify you it is ready. Items not collected within a reasonable period (we will advise the timeframe) may incur storage fees, and we will contact you before taking any further steps regarding uncollected items.
7. Virtual Framer
Our Virtual Framer tool produces visual previews and indicative pricing to help you explore options. Previews are representations only — actual colours, finishes and proportions may vary — and any figure generated is an estimate, not a binding quote. A final quote is provided once we have seen the work.
8. Gift certificates and shop purchases
Gift certificates may be redeemed toward Services or goods as described at purchase. Consistent with the Australian Consumer Law, gift certificates are valid for at least three years from the date of issue and are not redeemable for cash. Goods purchased through our shop (including original artworks) are described as accurately as possible; original works are typically one-of-a-kind and sold in their described condition.
9. Intellectual property
The content of this website — text, images, video and design — is owned by or licensed to Framehouse and may not be copied or reproduced without permission. You retain all rights in your own artwork; by asking us to frame or photograph a piece you grant us permission to handle and, with your consent, photograph it for our records and portfolio.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that State.
