What we do
Every piece has a story worth preserving. Whether it's a treasured family photograph, a cherished keepsake, or a meaningful work of art, we create custom frames that protect, enhance and honour what makes it special.
Designed by hand
Each frame is designed with careful consideration given to the artwork, its surroundings, and its long-term preservation.
Built to protect
Acid-free matboard, UV-filtering glass and archival reversible mounting — as standard. Not an upgrade. Simply how we frame.
Ready to last
A display that not only looks beautiful today but remains protected for years to come — and for the decades that follow.
About Framehouse
Framehouse is a private framing studio on an acreage property in Brookfield, run by husband and wife Brenton and Lois Nicholls. From the first conversation about your artwork — the moulding, the matboard, the glass — both are involved. That continuity carries through to the moment the work leaves the studio.
There are no handoffs, no job sheets passed between staff, no counter queue. Just a private appointment, unhurried, with people who care about what you've brought in.
Because we work from a home workshop rather than a shopping-centre shopfront, our pricing reflects the work and the materials — gallery-standard framing at a price that makes sense.
Conservation-grade materials — acid-free matboard, UV-filtering glass, archival reversible mounting — come as standard. Not as an upgrade. It's simply how we frame.
Our studio is equipped with precision tools, including a Valiani Nexus 150 computer mat cutter and a Brevetti Double Mitre Saw. And when an existing frame needs attention, we restore it without ever touching the artwork itself.
The quiet reassurance of knowing exactly who is handling something that matters to you.

How it works
1
Bring it in
Book a private appointment and bring your artwork to our Brookfield studio. Or design your frame first before visiting us using Virtual Framer from home. We'll quote you on your selected designs.
2
Choose your frame
When you visit us, we walk you through mouldings, mats and glass — taking the time it deserves. Lois has an exceptional eye for colour and combination.
3
Collect it
Your piece is ready in around two weeks — framed, sealed and ready to hang. We'll call you when it's done.
We put our name on the back of every frame that leaves our workshop. If it's not sitting right with you within thirty days, bring it back. We'll fix it until it is. No conditions. That's our promise.
